About Single Sign-On Implementation
You can configure Zinc user authentication through your SAML-based SSO server. SSO configuration requires the following:
An SSO server that can send SAML 2.0 certificates.
An endpoint URI that can be accessed from outside your corporate network.
An engineer who is familiar with configuring your SSO server.
Because no software is installed, there is no need for you to create a separate dev configuration for testing purposes before implementation in your production environment. After you successfully test the connection, SSO is disabled for your domain(s) until you are ready to move to production. Your endpoint URI must be accessible from outside your network because Zinc is cloud-based. Although it is technically feasible to configure SAML-based SSO connections between cloud-based solutions and internal SSO servers, it is inadvisable, because this configuration choice prevents users from accessing Zinc when they are outside your corporate offices or not connected to your internal network via VPN.
After you complete Zinc SSO implementation, new users sign up with their SSO login credentials. After authentication via your SSO server, users are redirected into Zinc, their accounts are automatically created, and they are prompted to complete their profile information.
