Why Service Board?
Service Board was developed to provide substantial improvements in performance and usability over Dispatch Console, which was first released in 2009. Functionality to support complex work scenarios, such as capital equipment service and large-scale multi-day projects performed by crews, is included.
Dispatch Console is a rich client. All Work Order, Technician, and Service Team records must be downloaded from Salesforce to the client app. Scalability limits are rearchitected for improved responsiveness when large numbers of records are downloaded to Service Board.
