Editing a Note on a Dictionary Item
Update the content of an existing note on an Observation, Root Cause, or Solution dictionary item to reflect new findings, refined decisions, or additional context as the investigation progresses.
You can edit a note to update findings, clarify decisions, or add additional context as the investigation progresses.
To edit a note on a dictionary item:
1. Open the relevant Case, Work Order, or Service Request.
2. Select the Investigations tab.
3. From the Installed Product drop down list, select the relevant installed product.
4. In the Observations, Root Causes, or Solutions section, locate the dictionary item.
5. Select Notes to open the Notes pop-up window.

You can edit only one note at a time. While a note is open, the Notes and Add Notes links for other dictionary items are unavailable.
6. To view and edit the note in a larger window, select the Expand icon.
7. To close without saving, select Cancel or press Esc.
8. To save your changes, select Save or press:
Cmd+Enter (Mac)
Ctrl+Enter (Windows)
The updated note replaces the previous content and remains associated with the dictionary item.
