Scheduling
Scheduling
Managing the dispatch of the right technicians to Work Order locations is central to the success of Field Service Management, and it can be achieved in the following ways:
Manual dispatch: This involves a manual study of the Work Order details and Technician availability by dispatchers, who then determine the best technician to be assigned/scheduled for a work order based on business-specific parameters. Dispatch Console or Service Board can be used for managing manual dispatch.
Semi-automatic dispatch: This involves assigning work orders automatically to dispatchers or queues based on predefined criteria, from where manual assignment/scheduling to specific technicians is done. Semi-automatic dispatch is achieved through Immediate Dispatch or Assisted Scheduling in Service Board.
Automatic dispatch: This involves automatically scheduling technicians to work orders, based on algorithmic matching of work order requirements such as SLAs, Appointments, and Skills required to Technicians' availability and Expertise. Automatic dispatch is achieved through Schedule Optimization.
