Object
Description
Account
Stores details about organizations or persons involved with your business (such as customers, competitors, and partners). In the context of Installed Base App, data in this object represents the organization / business where installed products are present.
Product
Stores the generic details of all the products that your organization handles. In the context of Installed Base App, installed products are a specific instance of a certain product, and hence Product records are required to create Installed Product records.
Location
Stores details about specific locations used in your business. In the context of Installed Base App, the data in this object represents the physical location where an installed product is present. A location can in turn have sub-locations. The Parent field in the Location object is used to determine this relationship, and build the IB tree in the Installed Base App accordingly.
Installed Product
Stores details of the various actual installed products in your Installed Base. Installed products can have various components which in turn are installed products themselves. The Top-Level field and Parent field are used to determine this assembly hierarchy, and build the IB tree in the Installed Base App accordingly. For an installed product, the Top-Level field identifies the highest / first installed product in the hierarchy / tree while the Parent field identifies the immediate higher level in the hierarchy / tree.
