Adding Pricing Rules
You can define how service charges are calculated for a service plan by adding pricing rules based on rate type, rate amount, and service type.
To add a pricing rule:
1. Go to ServiceMax Setup > Warranties & Service Contracts > Service Plans.
The Service Plans page is displayed. By default, the Service Plans page displays only recently viewed service plans.

Alternatively, access the Service Plans page by clicking the App Launcher, typing Service Plans in the search bar, and selecting it from the results.
2. To view all service plans, click All Service Plans from the list view dropdown.
3. In the Service Plan Name column, select the required service plan name.
The selected Service Plan record page is displayed.
4. In the Service Flow Wizard , under the Service Plan Pricing section, select Pricing Rule.
Pricing Rules
The Edit Service Plan Pricing Rule page is displayed.
The Edit Service Plan Pricing Rule page enables you to create and manage pricing rules for a selected service plan.
In the Service Plan section, by default the name of the selected service plan is displayed in the Service Plan Name field.
5. In the Lines section, click Add Pricing Rule.
The Service Type Lookup window is opened.

You can only view the recently viewed service name in the Results section.
6. In the Quick Find text box, search for the required service name, and then click Search.

Ensure that the service exists. For more information, see Creating a New Available Service.
7. Select the required service name, and then click Add.

A new row is created in the Pricing Rule tab.
8. Provide the details for the fields as described in the following table.
Field
Description
Service Type
Displays the type of service for which the rule applies. Enter or select the service type using Lookup.
For more information on how to create a service type, see Creating a New Available Service.
Rate Type
Displays the calculation method used to determine service charges for the selected service type. Choose from the following options to specify how billing is applied:
Fixed: Calculates a constant rate regardless of service duration or amount.
Minimum: Ensures a minimum charge is applied even if the actual cost is lower.
NTE (Not to Exceed): Sets a maximum charge limit for the service that cannot be exceeded.
Surcharge: Adds an additional cost percentage or amount to the base service rate.
Rate
Displays the numeric rate value defined for the selected rate type. Enter the rate amount.
Currency ISO Code
Displays the currency code for the rate (for example, Australian Dollar, U.S Dollar). Enter the rate amount. Select the correct currency code.

To add a new row for pricing rule, select the Add Pricing Rule button and add a service type. Alternatively, in the Pricing Rule tab, select the down arrow icon next to an existing pricing rule record, and then select Clone. A new row is created, and you can modify the details as needed.
9. To save the changes and to stay on the Edit Service Plan Pricing Rule page, click Quick Save.

10. To save the changes and navigate back to the Details tab, click Save.
In the Related tab of the record page, under Pricing Rule related list, you can view all pricing rules for the selected service plan.
