Contracts, Warranties, and Entitlements
Contracts, Warranties, and Entitlements
Contracts, warranties, and entitlements are parts of a service-level agreement (SLA). An SLA is a commitment between you and your customer. With the Salesforce platform, you can manage your SLAs with service contracts, entitlements, and warranties.
Contracts: Service contracts in Salesforce represent a customer support agreement between you and your customers. You can use them to represent subscriptions, SLAs, and other types of support.
Warranties: Warranties are the written guarantees issued by the manufacturer to the customers for any purchase. For every installed product, there is a warranty as a promise to repair or replace the product within a specific period. You can define the type and scope of coverage in a warranty such as parts, labor, and expenses.
Entitlements: Entitlements are units of customer support in Salesforce. They are typically used to represent terms in service agreements. You can associate entitlements with accounts, assets, contacts, and service contracts.
