Viewing Part Details and Product Information in the 3D Explorer
Access the interaction guide, view detailed part information for a selected component, and review product details from the information bar in the 3D Product Explorer.
The 3D Product Explorer provides a toolbar at the bottom-left of the canvas with controls for accessing the interaction guide and viewing part information. The bottom bar of the explorer displays the product name and code for the currently loaded product variant. These controls help you understand the available 3D interactions and inspect detailed metadata for selected components.

Prerequisites

• You must be logged in to the PTC Orbit application.
• You must have access to the AI Hub module.

Perform the following steps to use the 3D Explorer toolbar and view product information.
1. Navigate to AI Hub from the left navigation menu.
The AI Hub chat interface displays with a text input field.
2. Open a product in the 3D Product Explorer from the AI Hub chat.
The 3D model renders on the canvas with the parts panel on the right.
3. Click the Guide button in the bottom-left toolbar of the 3D canvas.
The Guide panel is displayed, providing instructions on available 3D controls, keyboard shortcuts, and interaction methods. Close the guide when you are finished reviewing.
4. Click on a part in the 3D canvas to select it. The part is highlighted in green.
The View part information button appears in the bottom-left toolbar.

This button is only visible when a part is selected on the 3D canvas.

5. Click the View part information button to display the part details.
The detailed part metadata, specifications, and properties are displayed based on the configuration, providing information beyond the part name and number visible in the BOM tree or Spatial Parts Index.
6. Locate the product information bar at the bottom of the 3D Explorer panel. It displays the product name and the product code for the currently loaded variant.
7. Click the information icon next to the product code to view a tooltip with additional details.
The tooltip explains that a Product BOM is available for the variant and that the product is displayed using its associated 3D model BOM, showing only the parts defined for this variant.
The Guide panel provides reference information for 3D interactions. The Part Information panel displays detailed metadata for the selected component. The product information bar confirms which product variant is currently loaded in the 3D Product Explorer.
