Windchill Exporter - Source Selection pages (Integration for PTC Windchill)
The Source Selection pages allow you to specify which items are included in the export.
Select the check boxes associated with the items you want to include in the export, and clear the check boxes associated with the items you want to exclude from the export.
You can expand Blocks and Block Properties to show their child Block Properties, and you can expand Variation Points to show their Variants.
You add additional items to the Source Selection pages by dragging the required items from Modeler to Windchill Exporter.
The two Source Selection pages
There is a Source Selection page for selecting Block or Block Property to include, and a Source Selection page for selecting Variation Points and Variants:
When you start Windchill Exporter from a Block or Block Property:
The first Source Selection page allows you to select Block or Block Property.
The second Source Selection page allows you to select Variation Points and Variants that are associated with the Blocks and Block Properties you selected on the first Source Selection page.
When you start Windchill Exporter from a Variation Point:
The first Source Selection page allows you to select Variation Points and Variants.
The second Source Selection page allows you to select Blocks and Block Properties that are associated with the Variation Points and Variants you selected on the first Source Selection page.
When you start Windchill Exporter from a Package:
If the first item Windchill Exporter encounters is a Block or Block Property:
The first Source Selection page includes all Blocks and Block Properties from the Package and its child Packages. You can select Blocks and Block Properties to export.
The second Source Selection page includes all Variation Points and Variants from the Package and its child Packages, and any Variation Points and Variants that are associated with the Blocks and Block Properties you selected on the first Source Selection page.
If the first item Windchill Exporter encounters is a Variation Point or Variant:
The first Source Selection page includes all Variation Points and Variants from the Package and its child Packages. You can select Variation Points and Variants to export.
The second Source Selection page includes all Blocks and Block Properties from the Package and its child Packages, and any Blocks and Block Properties that are associated with the Variation Points and Variants you selected on the first Source Selection page.
*
In Modeler, a Block or Block Property is associated with a Variant when they are linked by an Artifact Dependency.
Adding additional items to the Source Selection pages
To add additional items to the Source Selection pages, drag the required items from Modeler to the Browser pane on the Source Selection page:
When the page shows Blocks and Block Properties, you can drag additional Blocks, Block Properties and Packages from Modeler to the Browser pane.
When the page shows Variation Points and Variants, you can drag additional Variation Points and Packages from Modeler to the Browser pane.
You will not be able to add an item if it is already included in the export.
For Blocks and Block Properties only
If any of the Blocks or Block Properties are end item parts, select the End Item check boxes that are associated with those items. Alternatively, when the Parts are created in Windchill, you can set up those Parts as end items.
Based on relationships in the model, Windchill Exporter may auto-select some End Item check boxes.
If any of the Blocks or Block Properties are going to be set up as configurable modules in Windchill, select the Configurable Module check boxes that are associated with those items. Alternatively, when the Parts are created in Windchill, you can set up those Parts as configurable modules.
When a Block has a variability dependency, Windchill Exporter selects the Configurable Module check box for the parent item, and it's parent item, recursively to the top of the tree structure. This ensures the data created in Windchill is ready to be used as a configurable product structure.
After you have set the options as required, click Next.
