Creation

To create a Service Function:

• From an Architectural Description or Service Description: right-click the Architectural Description or Service Description, point to New, point to MODAF, point to Service, and then click Service Function.

• From an SOV-5 Service Functionality or SV-5 Function to Operational Activity/Service Function Definition: click the

Service Function toolbar button, and then click in free space on the diagram.

Appearance

When shown on an SOV-5 Service Functionalityor SV-5 Function to Operational Activity/Service Function Definition, a Service Function appears as follows:

When shown on an SOV-4b Service State Model, a Service Function appears as a Do Service Function call:

Relationships

The following relationships are of importance to a Service Function:

• Implements relationships link the following elements to an implementing Service Function: Function, Operational Activity and Standard Operational Activity elements.

• Is Capable Of Performing relationships link a Service Function to Service Interface elements that perform the Service Function.

• Used as a type for Service Function Action elements.
