Measure type (UPDM - DoDAF aliases)
Creation
To create a Measure Type:
• From an Architectural Description or Service Description: right-click the Architectural Description or Service Description, point to New, point to DoDAF, point to All, and then click Measure Type.
• From an AV-3 Measurement Definition: click the Measure Type toolbar button, and then click in free space on the diagram.

When shown on an AV-3 Measurement Definition, a Measure Type appears as follows:
Relationships
The following relationships are of importance to a Measure Type:
• UML Generalizations define Measure Type inheritance ( AV-3 Measurement Definition).
• Link a Measure Type to Measure elements that specify values: right-click the Measure Type, point to Links, and then click Actual Property Set.

The following writeable properties are available on the Measure Type tab of a Measure Type element's Property Pages:
• URI
