Adding items to an activity diagram
You can add an existing item to an Activity Diagram in the following ways:
Dragging items from a Modeler pane to the Activity Diagram.
Through an Activity Diagram toolbar button.
Through the diagram background.
You can add existing items to an Activity Diagram in the following ways:
Through populate commands available on the diagram background and symbols.
Note that you can only add items that are child items of the Activity that owns the Activity Diagram.

Dragging an item to an Activity Diagram:
1. Open the Activity Diagram.
2. In an appropriate pane, locate the item you want to add to the Activity Diagram.
3. Drag the item from the appropriate pane to the Activity Diagram, within an Activity Partition, Interruptible Activity Region, Structured Activity Node or the frame.
Through an Activity Diagram toolbar button:
1. Open the Activity Diagram.
2. On the diagram's toolbar, click the appropriate button, and then on the diagram right-click the diagram background or within the appropriate item.
To add Input Pins or Output Pins, right-click near the edge of the item.
3. From the popup menu, click the command for the item you want to add to the diagram.
Through the diagram background:
1. Open the Activity Diagram.
2. Right-click the diagram background, or the item that owns the item you want to add (action node item, Structured Activity Node or Interruptible Activity Region).
3. Point to Add, and then click the command for the item you want to add.
Through the populate commands:
Right-click the diagram symbol you want to populate, point to Populate, and then click the appropriate command.
You can populate all an Activities items: right-click the diagram background within the frame, point to Populate, and then click Contents.
