Specifying properties to include for extracted items and diagrams (Publisher)
Through the Properties pane, you can define which properties of an item or diagram are extracted for a Document Structure item.
*
You can change which default properties are included when assigning a model item type to a document structure item through the Defaults pane. For more information, refer to Specifying default properties to include for extracted items and diagrams.
To view which properties are extracted:
In the Document Structure pane, select the document structure item.
In the Properties pane, the properties that will be included for extracted items and diagrams are listed below the Model Item Properties entry.
Important: The EMFPlusOnly property of a diagram extracts the diagram image.
To add a property to be extracted:
1. In the Document Structure pane, select the document structure item.
2. In the
Properties pane, select theModel Item Properties entry.
3. Click the New Item button.
Note that the type of the new property will default to Name.
4. Expand the new Property entry.
5. Select the Property entry, and then from the associated drop-down list, select the Property type you want to include.
The property names listed are the Modeler Automation Interface names of the properties (attributes through the automation interface). For information about how the automation interface attribute names map to the property names seen in Modeler, see the topics in the Automation Interface > Object Attributes and Associations (Item Properties and Links) section of the Modeler Help.
If you are changing the properties of a child role, the Name list includes only those properties that are common to all the item types that can be accessed through that child role.
*
For a diagram, you can use the Used Dictionary Item role to extract the items that appear on that diagram, or in the case of Text Diagrams, all items that are referenced through Model Object References.
6. If you want to change the label that is used to display the property in generated output, change the value of the Label Text property.
7. If you do not want to include the label, set the Generate Label property to Don't Generate.
8. If you want the extracted properties to appear in a table, set the Organize as Sections/Table property to In Table.
If you want the title of the table to be included in the List of Tables section , set the Generate Title property to Generate (Word output format only). You can use the Table Title Format and Table Title Parent Property properties to define how the table title is derived.
9. Order the properties through the Up and Down buttons.
To remove a property:
1. In the Properties pane, select the property you want to remove.
2. Click the Delete Item button.
