SysML 2.0
PTC Modeler 10.3 delivers innovative system modelling capabilities in accordance with the new system modelling standard, SysML 2.0, which was released by the Object Management Group (OMG) in July 2025. SysML 2.0 is the next-generation language for modeling systems and is designed to facilitate a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approach to complex product development. PTC Modeler 10.3 and SysML 2.0 provide the capabilities to create and visualize models that represent many different aspects of a system, including requirements, structure, behavior and verification.
SysML 2.0 capabilities will be released incrementally over multiple versions of PTC Modeler, beginning with version 10.0. The main enhancement delivered with 10.3 is a SysML 2 Textual Notation Exporter, which allows you to easily export SysML 2 models to .sysml files which can be saved and accessed using a text editor or IDE (interactive development environment). Once models are specified in machine readable textual notation, they can be used to share models with other SysML 2 compliant applications. The textual notation is also suitable for copying to AI tools which enables a wide range of use cases such as model review, analysis, natural language queries, trade studies/optimization, document generation and more.
For more information on the textual exporter, see SysML 2.0 Textual Exporter.
Another SysML 2 enhancement is the SysML 2 Lite User Role, which can be used to provide a simplified, easier to learn user experience. The User Role hides many of the non-essential metamodel types, making model creation, editing and understanding much easier for non-experts. This solution is delivered as an XML file that is easy to modify, adapt and share. When users are more mature in their MBSE adoption, they can simply use the standard User Role and access the full SysML 2 features and metamodel.
For more information on user roles, see Overview of user roles.

User Experience
PTC Modeler 10.3 includes usability improvements that will greatly increase your productivity when viewing and modifying item properties. The new Property Grid feature provides an improved user experience, using a non-modal pane that can be floating, docked and re-sized. The Property Grid only displays properties that are relevant to the selected type, properties for multiple items can be viewed at the same time using multiple panes, easier navigation for related/linked items as well as a user-configurable layout. The new Property Grid works with UML, SysML 1 and 2 models.
For more information on the property grid, see Property Grid.
Database management has been enhanced for easier adding of add SQL instances in Model Explorer, and tools for database monitoring and optimization and audit logging. Fore more information on database monitoring, see Monitor Databases in Model Explorer.
