Synchronization directions page (Integration for Windchill RV&S)
This page of Integration for Lifecycle Manager allows you to specify the direction in which items and traceability relationships are synchronized for a Requirement Mapping or Surrogate Mapping.
In the Objects group, select the option for the direction in which you want to synchronize items and diagrams. For a Surrogate Mapping, the synchronization direction must be Modeler -> Integrity Lifecycle Manager.
In the Traceability group, select the option for the direction in which you want to synchronize traceability relationships. If you do not want to synchronize traceability links, select any option, and on the Relationship Mapping page do not map any traceability links.
You may want to create lightweight extensions of the supported items, diagrams, and traceability links to match the names of your categories and relationships in PTC RV&S. Extensions to traceability relationships can be synchronized in both directions. Tell me more...
Note that non-traceability relationships can be part of a Surrogate Mapping, but they are always synchronized only from Modeler to Windchill RV&S.
In addition to the common navigation buttons, the following controls appear on this page of Integration for Lifecycle Manager.
Objects group:
Modeler -> Integrity Lifecycle Manager option - specifies that the synchronization process creates and updates items in the PTC RV&S Document from data in the Modeler Model.
Use this option when you are maintaining your SysML Requirements only in the Modeler Model, or when you want to export your Modeler Requirements to the PTC RV&S Document the first time.
Modeler <- Integrity Lifecycle Manager option - specifies that the synchronization process creates and updates items in the Modeler Model from data in the PTC RV&S Document.
Use this option when you are maintaining your Requirements only in the PTC RV&S Document, or when you want to import your PTC RV&S Requirements to a Modeler Model the first time.
Modeler <-> Integrity Lifecycle Manager option - specifies that the synchronization process is bidirectional:
Integration for Lifecycle Manager creates and updates items in the PTC RV&S Document from data in the Modeler Model.
Integration for Lifecycle Manager creates and updates items in the Modeler Model from data in the PTC RV&S Document.
Use this option when you want to be able to change Requirements in either the Modeler Model or the PTC RV&S Document, and then have those Requirements synchronized so that they match in the Modeler and PTC RV&S environments.
Traceability group:
Modeler -> Integrity Lifecycle Manager option - specifies that the synchronization process creates and updates traceability relationships in the PTC RV&S Document from data in the Modeler Model.
Use this option when you are maintaining your traceability relationships only in the Modeler Model, or when you want to export your traceability relationships to the PTC RV&S Document the first time.
