To Set a Branch Shape
Defining a Branch Shape
1. Create a new blockshape.
2. For the shape to be considered a branch, you must instance the ports as follows:
3. Port 1 points to the left (180 degree rotation).
4. Port 2 points to the right on the same horizontal plane as port 1 (0 degree rotation).
5. Port 3 is below the horizontal plane of ports 1 and 2 and points downwards (-90 degree rotation).
6. Place the datum point at the intersection point of all three ports.
Setting a Branch Shape for the Design
1. Click Design > Design Properties. The Design Properties dialog box opens.
2. Click Branch Shape. The Branch Shape Selector dialog box opens.
3. Select a diagram type and click Branch. The Branch Shapes dialog box opens.
4. Select a shape from the Branch Shapes list and click OK. The Branch Shapes dialog box closes and the branch shape name appears in the Shape column of the Branch Shape Selector dialog box.
5. Click OK to close the Branch Shape Selector dialog box.
6. Click OK to close the Design Properties dialog box.
Setting a Branch Shape for a Fiber
1. Select the fiber from the Fibershapes list in the Catalog Explorer.
2. Click . The Fiber Properties dialog box opens.
3. Click Branch.
4. Click Set Branch Shape. The Select Branch Shape dialog box opens.
5. Select the shape required and click OK.
6. Click Use Default Branch/Network Shape to use the default design branch shape.
7. Click Apply.
8. Continue configuring fiber parameters and click OK.
