To Set Note Temporary Properties
1. Click > . The Multi-line Text dialog box opens.
2. Click Temp Properties. The Temporary Note Properties dialog box opens.
3. Select a Layout Mode option to define text layout:
◦ Fixed Size—Fixes the text size. Text appears as it is displayed in the dialog box.
| In Fixed Size layout, a single click places the text. |
◦ Auto-Size To Fit Box—Increases or decreases text size so it fits into a box defined by two mouse clicks (top left and bottom right corners). Changes the text size according to the values in the Auto-Sized Heights box.
◦ Auto-Wrap To Fit Box—Wraps text to fit in a box defined by two mouse clicks (top left and bottom right corners).
4. Select a Note Offset option to set text line offset in relation to the pointer:
◦ None—Places the text at the pointer location (default).
◦ One Line Space or Two Line Space—Places the text one or two lines above the pointer, respectively.
◦ User Specified—Places the text at the position defined by the value in the Offset Line Spaces box (default is 3).
| Layout Mode and Note Offset options are not available when editing properties of existing multiple-line text. |
5. Select an option to set text Legibility:
◦ Legible—Rotates text freely.
◦ Rigid—Places text in a specific rotation.
◦ Fixed—Places text in a fixed location.
6. Set text Justification.
7. Click
to change the
Font. The
Font Style Selection dialog box opens. Choose a font from the list and click
OK.
8. Click
to change the text
Type. The
Select text type dialog box opens. Choose a text type from the list and click
OK.
◦ Unadorned—Places a label with no added graphics.
◦ with + Datum—Places a label with a + drawn at the text anchor point.
◦ with Circle—Places a label with a circle surrounding the text.
◦ with Diamond Datum—Places a label with a diamond at the text anchor point.
◦ with Rectangle—Places text with a rectangle surrounding the text.
◦ with Rounded box—Places a label with a rounded box surrounding the text.
◦ with Underline—Places a label with underlined text.
◦ with X Datum—Places a label with an X at the text anchor point.
9. Type a value in the Text Height box to set text height.
10. Type a string of values in the Auto-Sized Heights box to best fit the text in a specific box when using the Auto-Size To Fit Box option.
11. Type a value in the Line Spacing Factor box to set the spacing between lines.
12. Select a layer from the Layer list to set the layer on which to place the text.
13. Type an angle value to Rotate the text.
| When you enter an angle greater than 120 degrees, it is automatically modified to - (180 - the specified angle) to keep the text legible. For example, an angle of 121 degrees becomes -59 degrees. |
14. Click the Color box to open the Select a Color dialog box and select a color for the text.
15. Click Apply to configure properties for additional notes or click OK.
