To Create a Series of Offset Construction Lines
1. Click Geometry. The Geometry tab opens.
2. Click the arrow next to Offset and select an offset construction line from the list.
3. Enter a value with one of the following formats in the Offset box and/or the Angle box:
An incremental offset where i represents increment in the expression
i<offset distance value>
The first dimension is taken from the datum point; subsequent dimensions are taken from the previous construction line.
An absolute offset where a represents absolute in the expression
a<offset distance value>
The dimension is taken from the datum point and subsequent dimensions are uniform.
An offset on both sides where * represents both sides in the expression
*<offset distance value>
The dimensions are taken from the datum point and offset on both sides.
4. Click to place additional construction lines.
5. Middle-click or Right-click and choose Exit Tool from the shortcut menu.

Depending on the project defaults, you may not need to specify a or i when the offset distance is set. For example, if the default is defined as incremental offsets, you must only specify a to use an absolute offset.
