About Membermaps
Membermaps set names and datasets for all members of an object. When a dataset is applied to a group instance, for example, the associated membermap specifies the datasets and names for all group members throughout the hierarchy of the group.
When a dataset is applied to a component with ports, the membermap is applied to the ports. Datasets for blocks and fibers can have associated membermaps that specify physical names and optional datasets for ports contained by the block or fiber. Each dataset for the block or fiber can specify the name of a membermap file that is automatically loaded with the dataset. You can specify the same membermap for more than one dataset in a datatable.
Membermaps can contain a dataset for each pin on the device as a parameter. For example, a pin that displays its fixing type. Membermaps can be reused when the pin mapping is the same, even if the operating characteristics (that is, the dataset) for a part are not the same.
