About Constraints
Use constraints to define the movement of a manikin as you would for any assembly. When a segment is fully or partially locked, it is locked against another segment, so they move together.
When you click Reach or Look At, constraints are automatically created between the manikin and the geometry in the scene. These constraints can be captured and saved in a snapshot for analysis.
In the Manikin Tree, default placement constraints, Reach constraints, Look At constraints, and Fixed constraints appear in the Manikin Constraints node.
In the Manikin Tree, when the DOFs (degrees of freedom) of a manikin segment or manikin segment group are fully or partially locked (constrained), the icons show their status:
The manikin segment icon changes to when the segment is locked, or to when the segment is partially locked.
The manikin segment group icon changes to when the segment is locked, or to when the segment is partially locked.
