About Vision Cones
Use vision cones to show a person's zones of visual acuity or field of vision as represented by a manikin. Each field of view in the graphics window is a transparent colored cone originating at the midpoint between the manikin's eyes.
Each colored cone represents a specific range of visual performance and is intended as an aid when placing objects that a person must be able to see in an environment. When the vision cones are showing, you can see and evaluate the following fields of vision:
Peripheral (overall field of vision)—green
Binocular (overlap of right and left fields of vision)—yellow
Optimal (macula)—red
Accurate (reading zone)—blue
*
The peripheral and binocular vision cones are associated with the position of the manikin's head, while the optimal and accurate vision cones are associated with the manikin's line of sight.
Select a manikin and click Manikin > Vision Cones to show the vision cones for the manikin.
