To Transform Geometry in IDD Using Translate or Rotate
1. Select the geometry that you want to transform.
2. Click Edit > Transform or right-click in the graphics window or the Model Tree and click Transform. The Transform tab opens.
3. Click the Move tab.
4. Select Translate or Rotate from the Motion Type list in the Move tab.
5. Click one of the following options and perform the appropriate steps:
Relative in view plane—Moves the selected geometry parallel to the view plane.
1. Type or select an incremental value in the Translation or Rotation box. You can also select Smooth to move the selected geometry smoothly.
2. Click in the graphics window. The selected geometry moves by the chosen increment each time you click. When you select Smooth, the component moves when you drag the pointer.
3. Click again to place the selected geometry at the current location.
Motion Reference—Moves the selected geometry according to a selected motion reference in the imported feature.
1. Click Normal to move the selected geometry normal to the selected motion reference or click Parallel to move the selected geometry parallel to the selected motion reference.
2. Type or select an incremental value in the Translation or Rotation box. You can also select Smooth to move the selected geometry smoothly.
3. Click in the graphics window. The selected geometry moves by the chosen increment each time you click in the graphics window. When you select Smooth, the selected geometry moves when you drag the pointer.
4. Click again to place the selected geometry at the current location.
5. Middle-click to return the selected geometry to the position before it was moved.
6. Click on the Transform tab to complete the transformation of the selected geometry.
