About the Surface Merge User Interface
The user interface for the Merge tool includes:

The Feature Icon
To access the Merge tool, select two or more quilts and click Merge on the Structure tab.
The SURFACE MERGE Tab
The SURFACE MERGE tab consists of the following elements:
—For the first quilt, changes the side to be included in the merge.
—For the second quilt, changes the side to be included in the merge.
These options are available only if you select two intersecting quilts.
The Tabs on the SURFACE MERGE Tab
The SURFACE MERGE tab consists of the following tabs:
References—Lists quilts selected for the merge operation in the quilt collector.  
Options—Specifies the method of merging quilts.
Properties—Lets you edit the feature name and provides detailed information on the merged feature in the Creo Parametric browser.
The Shortcut Menus
When you right-click a merged feature, click one of the following commands on the shortcut menu to specify the method of merging quilts:
Intersect—Merges two quilts at their intersection point.
Join—Joins two quilts.
These commands are available only if you select two intersecting quilts.
