Rules for Assembling Associated Geometry Components
Assembly Rules: CSYS Attachment
1. Assemble the AGC in the 3D harness assembly.
2. Add a location on the coordinate system of the associated geometry component.
3. Attach the component to the harness.
4. Run HMX to generate the harness manufacturing drawing.
*
AGC components attached with coordinate system ignore any placement constraints.
Assembly Rules: Single Axis Attachment
1. Assemble the AGC in the 3D harness assembly constraining to the associated designated connector using coincident or distance constraints.
2. Route cables between the connectors in the wire harness assembly.
3. Add a location on the routing axis of the AGC near the orifice.
4. Attach the components to the harness assembly.
*
When single axis AGCs are attached using the fix placement constraint, HMX ignores other placement constraints.
Assembly Rules: Multi Axis Attachment
1. Assemble the AGC in the 3D harness assembly constraining to the associated designated connector using coincident or distance constraints.
2. Route cables between the connectors in the wire harness assembly.
3. Add a location on the routing axis of the AGC near the orifice.
In case of multi-axis AGCs, add a location on the routing axis of the entry orifice near the intersection of the axes.
4. Attach the components to the harness assembly. Attach the multi-axis components using the location created at the intersection of the axes.
*
When single axis AGCs are attached using the fix placement constraint, HMX ignores other placement constraints.
Ensure all cables routing through the AGC pass through all location points.
HMX will currently process multi-axis components which have a common intersection point.
