Using the Flat Pattern Manager
By default, the following occurs when you create a flat pattern manager feature:
The flat pattern state for the Flat Pattern Manager is set to Initial.
The flat pattern state for all bodies is set to Inherited.
All bodies remain in the flat pattern state they were in before creating the flat pattern manager feature.
Change the flat pattern manager state to Flat, to make sure that all flat patterns of bodies are created as expected. Edit the failed flat pattern feature.
Use the smt_flat_rep_inst_option configuration option to set the commands that display in the Flat Pattern list. By default options for both Family Table instances and Simplified Representations are available. You can now configure only one of these options to be accessible.
1. Click the arrow next to Flat Pattern and click Flat Pattern Manager. A Flat Pattern Manager feature is added as the last feature in the Model Tree.
2. To display the Flat Patterns for the bodies, click the arrow next to the Flat Pattern Manager feature in the Model Tree.
3. To change the state of all bodies, right-click the Flat Pattern Manager feature, and then select Flat Pattern State and choose an option from the list.
4. To change the flat state of a body flat pattern, select one or more flat patterns, right-click, and then select Flat Pattern State and select an option from the list. All flat patterns selected are now in the state you selected.
5. To set the selected flat pattern for a body as a simplified representation, in the Bends group, click the arrow next to Flat Pattern and click Create Representation.
6. To set the selected flat pattern for a body as an Family Table instance, in the Bends group, click the arrow next to Flat Pattern and click Create Instance.
