To Create or Edit a Flat Pattern Feature
1. Follow one of the steps below:
To create a flat pattern, click Sheetmetal > Flat Pattern > Flat Pattern.
To edit a flat pattern feature, select it in the Model Tree and click .
The Flat Pattern tab opens.
2. Accept the default fixed geometry reference, or select a different surface or edge to remain fixed.
*
You cannot manually select bent geometry.
3. To set bent geometry references requiring deformation control, click Deformations. The Deformations tab opens. Automatically defined deformation surfaces are displayed in the collector. Add additional references as needed.
4. To set one or more fixed areas for each disjoint volume of geometry detected, click Distinct Areas. The Distinct Areas tab opens. Set a fixed area for each disjoint volume.
5. To set the type of deformation control to apply, click Deformation Control. The Deformation Control tab opens. Accept the default type or select a different one.
6. To set other options, click Options. The Options tab opens:
Click the Merge colocated side surfaces check box to remove side surfaces that share the same location.
Click the Unfold bends added to forms check box to unbend any geometry associated with forms.
When forms are also flattened, first unbends any associated geometry.
Click the Flatten forms check box to flatten all forms.
Click the Project cuts added to forms check box to project cuts on forms onto the flat pattern.
Click the Create relief geometry check box to create the corner relief geometry.
*
Corner relief is created as defined in the Relief area of the Sheetmetal Preferences dialog box, unless the Corner Relief, Flange, or Conversion tools are used to define feature-specific relief.
When the Create relief geometry check box is cleared, the flat pattern shows the V-notch relief.
