Multicomponent Mixing using a Nozzle: Overview
This tutorial simulates the multicomponent mixing process in which a converging diverging nozzle mixes three components: Methane or CH4, Water or H2O, and Oxygen or O2. This demonstrates the effect of gravity. You can see the geometry and conditions for the simulation in the figure below:
1. Nozzle Outlet–Specified Pressure Outlet = 101325 Pa
2. Fuel pipe Inlet – Volumetric Flux = 0.003 m3/s
3. Nozzle Inlet – Volumetric Flux = 0.007 m3/s
4. Nozzle Side Inlet – Volumetric Flux = 0.005 m3/s
Component properties
• Density = Ideal Gas law
• Viscosity = Kinetic Theory
Boundary | CH4 Concentration | O2 Concentration | H2O Concentration |
---|
Nozzle Inlet | 0.99 | 0.01 | 0 |
Nozzle Side Inlet | 0 | 0.1 | 0.9 |
Fuel Pipe Inlet | 0.99 | 0.01 | 0 |
