Multicomponent Mixing using a Nozzle: Exercise 6—Specifying Volume Conditions
For boundary conditions, the fluid behavior and properties are specified at all bounding surfaces of the fluid domain.
1. Under Domains, select MIXING_NOZZLE_2_FLUID.
2. In the Model tab, for Common, select the following values for the options listed:
◦ Component CH4 — Ideal Gas Law
▪ Minimum Pressure — 10
▪ Molecular Weight — 16
◦ Component O2 — Ideal Gas Law
▪ Minimum Pressure — 10
▪ Molecular Weight — 32
◦ Component H2O — Ideal Gas Law
▪ Minimum Pressure — 10
▪ Molecular Weight — 18
3. In the Model tab, for Multicomponent Mixing, select the following values for the options listed:
◦ For Mixture, set Viscosity to Kinetic Theory.
◦ For Component CH4
▪ Under Lennard-Jones Parameters
▪ Diameter 3.758 A
▪ Energy — 148.6 K
▪ Under Initial Condition, set Value to 0.01.
◦ For Component O2
▪ Under Lennard-Jones Parameters
▪ Diameter — 3.458 A
▪ Energy — 107.4 K
▪ Under Initial Condition, set Value to 0.9
◦ For Component H2O
▪ Under Lennard-Jones Parameters
▪ Diameter — 2.605 A
▪ Energy — 572.4 K
▪ Under Initial Condition, set Value to 0.09.
