Load a drawing

You are running Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager outside of Creo Elements/Direct Modeling (see limitations). If you want to save changes, Start and stop Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager from Modeling.
Drawings may be loaded into the Creo Elements/Direct Annotation module of Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
To load a drawing,
1. In Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, click Applications and then, in the Base group, click . Alternatively, click File > Modules. The Modules dialog box opens.
2. Click the Annotation check box in the Applications pane. Creo Elements/Direct Annotation starts.
3. In Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager, right-click the drawing to be loaded, and click Load, or click Load with > Modeling-Annotation. Alternatively, select the drawing and click Action > Load, or Action > Load with > Modeling-Annotation or you can also double-click the drawing. The Model Manager Load dialog box opens.

If you choose to double-click the drawing, the Model Manager Load dialog box opens only if you have selected the Show load UI for 2D (Double click) option the Preferences dialog box. For more information, see Change your preferences.
4. If you wish to load the associated model along with the drawing, click Load in the Model Manager Load dialog box.

When you select multiple models and a drawing, after selecting the Load related models when loading drawings check box in the Preferences dialog box, the Model Manager Load dialog box does not open. All selected models and the ones associated with the drawing are loaded.
5. Click Load. The selected drawing is now loaded in Creo Elements/Direct Annotation.
To load a backup drawing file:
You can load drawing files which have been overwritten.
To see backup drawing files:
1. Right-click in the white space of the Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager Load dialog box and click Layout > me_drawing or Layout > DRAWING_2D.
2. Click the File To Load check box.
3. Click the down arrow in the File To Load box to see the available drawing files.
