Save a drawing
*
You are running Model Manager outside of Creo Elements/Direct Modeling and have viewing privileges only. To save, start Model Manager from Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
You can save drawings created in Creo Elements/Direct Annotation into Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager, and the drawing will be linked to your 3D model and Masterdata.
When you save a drawing, the owning models must also be saved. If <Enable2d3dSave> is true, Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager will display both the drawing and the models in the Save dialog. Otherwise, you must save the models before saving the drawing.
When multiple owning models each have a viewset for a single Creo Elements/Direct Annotation drawing, the drawing could be associated with more than one Masterdata. By default, Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager links the drawing to the Masterdata of the owner of the view that was added first. For more information, see <DrawingMasterdataHandling> in the Customization Guide.
To save a drawing,
1. In Creo Elements/Direct Annotation, click File > Save To Model Manager. The Save 2D dialog box opens.
2. Select the drawing in the Drawing Browser. Alternatively, right-click the drawing in the Drawing Browser and, in the shortcut menu, click Model Manager > Save Drawing.
3. Select a value in the Set Save Type and the Working Packet boxes for the drawing.
4. Select Save options, if necessary:
Create thumbnails generates and saves a thumbnail for the drawing.
Auto Refresh Status refreshes the status in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling after the drawing is saved.
PDF generates and saves a PDF file of the drawing.
5. Select a Save Type for each item being saved.
The Save dialog provides tools for sorting, viewing, and filtering the items.
Click a column header to sort the items based on their values in that column.
Click to switch between tree mode and flattened mode.
Click to activate and deactivate search mode. Click the arrow next to to select a search criterium. You can choose to search for modified items or by save type. When search is enabled, the items matched by the search are highlighted in yellow.
Click Filter to enable or disable the filter. Click the arrow next to Filter to select a filter. You can choose to display only modified items or filter by save type. When the filter is enabled, the number of items matched by the filter is displayed at the bottom of the dialog.
When the search and filter are both enabled, the filter will select the items matching the filter criterium and then the search will highlight the items matching the search criterium. The number of items matched by the search criterium within the items matched by the filter is displayed at the bottom of the dialog.
6. You can modify the Major Rev or Minor Rev and add Change Notes for individual items.
7. Click Save.
*
When you save a drawing with multiple Masterdata, the Save does not automatically back annotate the Masterdata. To select the Masterdata to be used with the drawing, click Update TitleBlock and select the Masterdata.

If you see a field that says Preview next number, a rolling number generator has been configured for that field. Click the button once to get the next number. Each time you click the button the number is incremented by the configured increment value. You can not return to the skipped values but the administrator can change the values. You may edit the value if the <AllowUserOverwrite> XML configuration tag is true.
