Run Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager outside of Creo Elements/Direct Modeling
You can start Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager from the Windows Start menu. This lets you search, organize, and view models, assemblies and drawings without opening Creo Elements/Direct Modeling. Running Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager this way is ideal for quick access to the Creo Elements/Direct Manager Server database.

Here are some tips to remember when running Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager outside of Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
1. You can view most model and drawing files with Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access. Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access is available for download from the Software Distribution Server.
2. If you make changes in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling and want to save them, make sure you Start and stop Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager within Creo Elements/Direct Modeling.
3. You can run two Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager Model Managers at the same time - one from within Creo Elements/Direct Modeling and another from the Windows start menu. Only the one associated with Creo Elements/Direct Modeling can save changes.
Limitations of running Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager outside of Creo Elements/Direct Modeling:
When Creo Elements/Direct Model Manager is run standalone instead of as a module of Creo Elements/Direct Modeling, the following actions are disabled:
Save models and assemblies.
Send a BOM view to Annotation.
