Measure shortest distance between point and edge
To measure the shortest distance between a point and an edge
1. Click Analysis and then, in the Measure group, click the arrow next to Distance.
2. Click Distance of Point to Edge. The Measure Output and Distance dialog boxes open.
3. Click a point on the object.
4. Click the target edge. Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access displays the shortest distance between the point and the edge in the Distance Output box.
5. You can click further measure options, or click to complete the operation.

If it is not possible to project a perpendicular through the point to the target edge, Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access displays an error message.
