Load files
You can load most popular 2D and 3D formats into Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access. (See File types for supported file formats.)
To load a file: Drag and drop
The easiest way to load a file is to drag and drop it from your PC's file explorer or desktop into the viewport.
To load a file: The Load menu
1. Click File > Open. Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access opens the file browser.
2. Select the file type to load in the File Type box.
*
You can see realistic thumbnail representations of package and bundle files in the Thumbnails view. However, realistic thumbnails are available only for files that were created or saved in Creo Elements/Direct 19.0 or later versions. Similarly, you can also see realistic thumbnails in the Windows Explorer.
3. Specify the file to be loaded by selecting it or entering its name in the file browser.
4. Click Load to load the file.
*
If you load 3D data files which contain parts, assemblies, workplanes, or workplane sets with identical names to any currently loaded parts, assemblies, workplanes, or workplane sets, Creo Elements/Direct 3D Access will automatically rename the loaded objects.
