To Search for an ECAD Object by ID, Name, Type, or Reference Designator
1. In an open design, click Find > Search. The Search ECAD Design dialog box opens.
2. In the Query Name box, type a name, or select a name from the list.
3. For ECAD searches, the only option available in the Search For box is ECAD Objects.
4. To narrow the search to a type of object, in the Search Within box, select an object type. To search all objects, select All. The Search By box updates automatically.
5. In the Search By box, select a characteristic to search for. For example, Object ID or Pin Name.

6. To limit the search to part of the board, in the Rule box, select a location.
7. In the Value box, type the text string to match, including wild cards.
8. The Ignore case check box is selected by default. To make the search case sensitive, clear the check box.

10. To save the search as a group, click Save As Group.
11. Click Apply or OK:
The results appear in the ECAD ECAD Results tab in the Secondary Navigation pane.
A named query is saved.
If you click OK, the Search ECAD Design dialog box closes.
12. To reset the query, click Reset. The query resets to the most recent state:
