Description
Summary
2D drawings
3D models
Measures all known information about one or more selected parts. A Summary measurement includes the following information, depending on the representation you are measuring:
2D drawing—Total length of two or more entities
3D model—Total length, area, perimeter, and volume data for one or more edges, surfaces, or parts. If a part has a material assigned, the summary also includes the part’s mass, centroid, center of gravity and envelope
The information is displayed in the graphics area with a leader line from the summary information to each item that is measured.
Length
2D drawings
3D models
Measures the length or perimeter of the selected edge or curve, or a chain of selected edges or curves.
Distance
2D drawings
3D models
Measures the distance between two or more entities.
Angle
2D drawings
3D models
Measures the angle between two linear entities.
Diameter
2D drawings
3D models
Measures the diameter or radius of a selected entity.
Area
3D models
Measures the area of a selected entity. If you select two or more reference entities for measurement, the total area for all the entities is reported. The selected entities do not need to be connected nor do they need to be the same entity type.
Mass Properties
3D models
Measures the volume, mass and center of gravity of a part or assembly.
Envelope
3D models
Measures the bounding box around one or more parts. You can set an Envelope measurement to include one of the following data sets:
Extents—Length, width, and height.
Corner Coordinates—Coordinates for each of the corners.
Center of Gravity
3D models
Measures and places a graphic symbol for the center of gravity of one or more selected parts or assemblies.
*
Center of Gravity is only available for Summary and Mass Properties measurements.
