To Propagate Tangency to Move, Offset, and Modify Analytic Features
To propagate tangency in Direct Modeling, ensure that you select the Maintain tangency by default option under File > Options > Direct Modeling. This option is disabled by default.
1. While creating a Move, Offset, or Modify Analytic Geometry feature, click on the Options Toolbar to maintain tangency around the transformed geometry.
2. Expand the Options Toolbar to view the Floating Dashboard and its available panels.
3. Select the Maintain tangency check box. The Use default conditions check box is selected automatically.
With this check box selected, you can add default fixed point conditions to the points that are automatically created to maintain tangency.
4. Clear the Use default conditions check box to remove default conditions. If you add a condition to an entity to which default conditions have been applied, the default condition are removed from that entity.
5. To add a condition to the geometry around the transformed geometry:
Select a condition from the Conditions list.
Click in the Conditions collector and select the geometry to which to apply the condition.
Click Add.
The condition name is added to the box below the Conditions list and a condition icon also appears in the graphics window. For example, if you add a Fixed condition from the list, the icon appears in the graphics window.
Repeat this step to add more conditions.
6. To change a condition that is applied to an entity around the transformed geometry, perform one of the following steps:
Click the condition icon in the graphics window. A list of conditions that can be added to the geometry appear in a menu.
For example, if a condition Fixed with tangency is applied to a surface, the following options appear on clicking the Fixed with tangency condition icon:
Fixed
Fixed with tangency
Fixed axis

Expand
Select a condition from the menu. For example, if you select Fixed axis, the minimized panel appears in the graphics window.
Alternatively, in a minimized panel, click and then select the condition.
Repeat these actions to add more conditions.
