To Create Revolved Geometry
1. In the 3D mode, select a sketch, a sketch region, or multiple sketch regions in the graphics window. A Mini Toolbar appears. A dragger appears with a handle.
2. Click the arrow next to on the Mini Toolbar.
Alternatively, click Home and then click the arrow next to Revolve and select a revolved geometry type as follows:
Option
Function
Solid
Revolves the sketch into a solid geometry.
Cut
Removes geometry from the revolving path of the sketch.
Surface
Revolves the sketch into surface geometry.
3. Click to open the Floating Dashboard.
4. To define an axis of revolution, select a linear reference. If Floating Dashboard is collapsed, click . Revolved geometry is created and an angular dragger appears. The reference name is seen the Axis of Revolution collector.
5. To modify the rotation angle, click and rotate the angular dragger. Or type or select a rotation angle in the Angle side 1 or Angle side 2 collector. Alternatively, in the Graphics Window, double-click the visible angle value, type a new value and press ENTER.

* If Angle side 1 value exceeds 360 degrees, Angle side 2 is not available.
6. To select a revolve geometry type, click the arrow next to Angle side 1 and select an option as follows:
Option
Function
Variable
Revolves the selected sketch around the axis of revolution by a specific angular value.
This option is selected by default.
Symmetric
Revolves the selected sketch on both sides of the axis of revolution by half the angular value in each direction.
To Selected
Revolves the selected sketch around the axis of revolution till a selected reference such as point, plane or surface.
The selected reference name is seen the Angle Side 1 collector below the arrow.
7. To flip the revolving direction click Revolve Direction .
8. For a revolved cut, to change the side of the material to be removed, click in the Material handling area.
9. To create thin solid revolve geometry with open / closed sketches, do as follows:
a. Select the Thicken sketch check box. If Floating Dashboard is collapsed, click .
b. Type a value in the Thicken sketch value box. Alternatively, pull the thickness dragger, in the Graphics Window.
c. To flip the thickness direction to the other side of the section click .
Thicken sketch is not available for creating revolved surface geometry.
10. Select the Capped ends check box to cap the ends of the selected surface geometry. If Floating Dashboard is collapsed, click .
If you revolve a closed section, you can close the ends of the revolved surface geometry.
11. Middle click to complete.
