About the Grid
Creo Direct 2D mode supports the Cartesian grid. The grid is for reference only and does not print with a model. The grid operations supported in Creo Direct are as follows:
• Toggle the display of the grid
• Enable or disable the snapping of the pointer to the grid intersections when creating 2D geometry
• Set the grid behavior, spacing, and orientation
• Specify the origin
You can scale the default grid for designing a new model to one model unit of the current part for a dynamic spacing of the grid. The origin of the grid can be one of the following locations:
• Sketched entity endpoint and center of an arc or a circle
• Sketched point and coordinate system
• Datum point and coordinate system
• Edge or curve vertex
When creating a sketch, you can reorient a sketch and its grid using specific references. You can also align the grid of a sketch with a reference entity.
