About Creating Offset Geometry
You can offset geometric entities by moving them to a specified distance. You can create an offset as a solid that results in the extension of connected entities. Alternatively, you can create the offset as a surface to create a copy of the surface that is being offset. You can offset solid or surface geometry with attached rounds and chamfers. A solid or a quilt is created after the offset operation. The rounds are recreated and attached to the solid in case of solid geometry and to the quilts in case of surface geometry. You can also select solid or surface geometry that have rounds at intersections and offset them.
