Linking a Block to A Different Block Diagram Using Diagram Linking Commands
You can link a block to an entirely different block diagram using the Set Diagram Link window. The linked diagram then provides detailed configuration information for the block.
1. In the diagram, do one of the following to open the Select Diagram Link window:
Right-click the block and select Diagram Linking > Set Diagram Link.
Select the block and then select RBD > Set Diagram Link.
If the Set Diagram Link command is unavailable, the block has a data link. A block cannot have both a data link and a diagram link. To make the Set Diagram Link command available, remove the data link by right-clicking the block and selecting Data Linking > Remove Link.
2. Use the Select Diagram Link window to set the diagram link.
In this window, you can select any existing diagram in the RBD Table. You can also insert new diagrams or copy existing diagrams to create new ones. For more information, see Select Diagram Link Window.
3. Once you have selected the diagram to which to link, click Select.
This diagram is now selected in the RBD Diagram pane.
In the diagram, the diagram link button appears near the upper right corner of this block. Additionally, Linked To: and the name of the linked diagram is shown in the block’s text box.

On the Links page in the block’s Calculation Properties window, the properties under Diagram linking work just as if the diagram link was set on this page. For more information, see Links Page.
Once RBD calculations run, you can view results for the child diagram in the Calculation Properties window of the diagram-linked block. For more information, see Calculations - Results Page.
To follow a diagram link, see Following a Diagram Link to Another Block Diagram. To remove a diagram link, see Removing a Diagram Link from a Block.
