Inserting a Part Using the Insert Prediction Part Window
The < Click here to insert a new record > command is shown in the last row in the Parts Table only if Show empty row in System file Parts Table is cleared under Prediction in the Options window. For more information, see Prediction User Options. Clicking this command opens the Insert Prediction Part window.
1. In the System Tree Items table, select the assembly.
2. In the last row in the Parts Table, click < Click here to insert a new record >.
If this is the first time that you clicked this command in the current session, Parts Library files are initialized for searching. Once this is finished, the Insert Prediction Part window opens. For more information, see Insert Prediction Part Window.
3. For Part Number, if you know the full or partial number, enter it so that all enabled Prediction Parts Library files are searched for a match. For more information, see Part Number Searches.
Otherwise, make the appropriate selections for Part Classification, Category, and Subcategory.
4. When finished, click OK to insert the part.
If a part number match is found, the data for this part is retrieved and shown in part-related panes.
If no part number match is found, the default data for this part classification, category, and subcategory is retrieved so that you do not have to manually enter this data yourself. For more information, see Defaults for Part Parameters.
5. Complete the fields in the Part Table and part-related panes. This includes entering part parameters in the Prediction Data pane.
