Automatically browse for NPRD/EPRD parts
Indicates whether to open the Library Browse window when you insert a part with an NPRD or EPRD part classification in the Parts Table. When this checkbox is selected (default), the Library Browse window opens so that you can search for the desired NPRD or EPRD part. When this checkbox is cleared, the Library Browse window does not open. In this case, you must manually enter NPRD or EPRD part data into the Parts Table.

Clear part data on category or subcategory change
Indicates whether to clear all part data fields when the part category or subcategory changes. When this checkbox is cleared (default), the data entered in part data fields that are commonly shared across calculation models are not cleared when the part subcategory or category changes. Common fields include those for power, current, voltage ratio, and temperature. When this checkbox is selected, the data entered in part data fields is removed when the part category or subcategory changes.

Defaults used color
The text color for a part in the System Tree Items table that is using default parameter values in a failure rate calculation for a reliability prediction. The default is black so that all parts in a new tree are not highlighted. After you enter parameter values for parts, you can select some color other than black. After you calculate prediction results, parts that still use default values for required parameters are highlighted in this color. Then, instead of reviewing all parts in the tree, you need only to validate highlighted parts. To make this easier, you can use the Format Builder to insert the display-only Defaults Used field in the System Tree Items table. This field shows the required parameters that are still using default values. For more information, see Defaults for Part Parameters.
Enter default values for new parts
Indicates whether to enter default values for a part type when the part is inserted. For more information, see Defaults for Part Parameters. When this checkbox is cleared (default), default values are not entered. However, default values are still used in failure rate calculations for fields where data values are not entered. When this checkbox is selected, default values are entered when parts are inserted using the Insert Prediction Part window. For this window to open, > must be cleared in the Options window. When this is the case, clicking < Click here to insert a new record > in the last row in the Parts Table opens this window. For more information, see Inserting a Part Using the Insert Prediction Part Window.
No failure rate model color
The text color for a part that is unsupported by the selected calculation model. The default is magenta. For more information, see Unsupported Parts.
Overstressed part row text color
The text color for an overstressed part in the System Tree Items table. The default is red. The part is overstressed if a limit for an electrical or thermal stress is exceeded. For more information, see Built-In Versus Custom Derating Limits.
Prediction tabs follow System Tree selection
Indicates whether the Prediction forms to show are based on the record selected in the System Tree Items table. When this checkbox is selected (default), Assembly forms are shown when an assembly is active, and Part forms are shown when a part is active. When this checkbox is cleared, the Parts Table, Prediction Data, and General Data panes are shown regardless of whether an assembly or part is selected in the System Tree Items table.
Show empty row in System file Parts Table
Indicates whether to show an empty row or the < Click here to insert a new record > command in the last row in the Parts Table. This option applies only to the Parts Table in System files and not to this table in Prediction Parts Library files or the Project’s Prediction Defaults file. When this checkbox is selected (default), an empty row is shown. When you enter data into any field in this row, a new blank row is inserted. For more information, see Inserting a Part Using a Blank Table Record. When this checkbox is cleared, the < Click here to insert a new record command > is shown. When you click this command, the Insert Prediction Part window opens so that you can enter information for the new part. For more information, see Inserting a Part Using the Insert Prediction Part Window.
Show units for specific reliability part data
Indicates whether to show units for part parameters in the Prediction Data pane. When this checkbox is cleared (default), no units are shown. To view descriptions for a part’s parameters, including units, in the help, you click in the Prediction Data pane and press F1. When this checkbox is selected, units are shown in the Prediction Data pane itself.
Uppercase part number
Indicates whether to always shown characters in a part number in uppercase, regardless of the case in which they were entered. When this checkbox is selected (default), all characters are shown in uppercase. When this checkbox is cleared, all characters are shown in the case in which they were entered.
