Entering 299B Fixed Resistors
The following table describes the part parameters required for fixed resistors when 299B is the selected calculation model. The 299B model supports all but the Surface Mount subcategory of fixed resistors.
Parameter
Type
Description
Quality Level
Choice List [Parts Count also]
The appropriate quality screening level of the device. Accepted quality levels and values for fixed resistors follow. For the quality value assigned to a specific fixed resistor, see Chinese Standard GJB/z 299B.
A1L = 0.05 (for Metallized Film [RL, RLR, RN, RNR, and RM] fixed resistors only)
A1W = 0.10
A2 = 0.30
B1 = 0.60
B2 = 1.00
C = 4.00 or 5.00
Resistance
Real
Not required for the following subcategories of fixed resistors: Network Film (RZ) and Thermistor (RTH).
The resistance value of the device.This parameter is used in conjunction with Units to enter the resistance value.
Units
Choice List
Not required for the following subcategories of fixed resistors: Network Film (RZ) and Thermistor (RTH).
The units for the Resistance value. Choices are:
ohm
Kohm (ohm * 1000)
Mohm (ohm * 1E6)
Type
Choice List [Parts Count also]
Required only for the following subcategories of fixed resistors: Film (RL, RLR, RN, RNR, and RM) and Thermistor (RTH).
Identifies the type of film.
For Film types, choices are Metallized Film and Carbon Film.
For Thermistor types, choices are Heat Sensitive and Pressure Sensitive.
Rated Temperature
Choice List
Required only for the Film (RL, RLR, RN, RNR, and RM) subcategory of fixed resistors.
The rated operating temperature of the fixed resistor. Choices are 705 and 125.
Resistor Quantity
Integer
Required only for Network Film (RZ) fixed resistors.
The number of Network Film (RZ) fixed resistors in use. Do not include Network Film (RZ) fixed resistors that are not used.
[Power Parameters]
Real (Watts)
Not required for Thermistor (RTH) fixed resistors.
For more information, see Power Parameters.
[Temperature Parameters)
Real (Degrees C)
Not required for Thermistor (RTH) fixed resistors.
