Gate or Event Properties
Before you perform quantitative analysis of a fault tree, you must specify calculation properties for all gates and events that are not linked to other items in the System file. The Properties window for a gate or event contains several pages.
In a System file or FTA Diagram Library file, you can quickly open the Properties window for a gate or event by double-clicking the gate or event. In an FTA Event Library file, you open the Properties window for the active event by clicking the Edit Calculation Properties button.

Several property pages are shown only for gates in System files. For example, the FTA Results page displays calculation results for the gate after FTA calculations run. Pages with system-specific calculation results are not shown in the Properties window for a gate in an FTA Diagram Library or Event Library file.
The following topics describe all pages that can appear in the Properties window for a gate or event:

When you open the Properties window from the System file or an FTA Diagram Library file, you can use the navigation control at the top of the window to quickly view the properties of other gates or events in the diagram. For more information, see Changing the Active Object in the Properties Window. When you open the Properties window from an FTA Event Library file, this control is not shown because events in this support file are not specific to a diagram. For more information about these files, see FTA Support Files.
