Using FRACAS Group Files
You can base a FRACAS report or graph on a FRACAS Group file only if no System file is open. This procedure assumes that at least one FRACAS Group file has already been created and set up. For more information, see Setting Up FRACAS Group Files.
1. Close all open System files.
If a FRACAS Group file is open and active, when you perform step 2, the Select File window does not open. The active file is automatically used as your selection.
2. To open the Select File window, do one of the following in a Project with multiple System files:
In the Project Navigator, click the Report Design file or Graph Template file.
In the Project Navigator, right-click a Graph Template file and select Edit File. This method works only for Graph Template files.
Select an Open command to open the Report Design file or Graph Template file. For more information, see Opening a File Using an Open Command. For a Report Design file, this method opens the file in the Report Designer. However, you can select File > Print Preview or File > Print to open the Select File window.
The Select File window opens.
3. Click the browse button. A window opens for selecting the file on which to base the report or graph. All System files and FRACAS Group file in the Project are listed.
If necessary, you can resize this window to view file names in their entirety. For more information, see Resizing a Window.
4. Select the FRACAS Group file to use.
If you select < No selection >, which appears at the top of the list, the Select File window closes. Clicking the red X also closes the window.
After you make a selection, the name of the FRACAS Group file is shown.
5. Click OK.
The FRACAS report or graph is generated based on the System files included in the FRACAS Group file. The data in these multiple System files is treated as if it all resides in one very large System file.
*
You must have at least read permissions for all System files included in the FRACAS Group file. If you do not, an error message appears, indicating the System files that could not be accessed. The data contained in these System files is not included in the FRACAS report or graph generated.
