Opening a File Using an Open Command
You can use Open commands to open an existing file. If a file is already open, you can open only other files in the same Project. If no file is open, you can open a file in any Project. In the Enterprise Edition, you can select from only the files for which you have the necessary permissions. All permissions are set by your system administrator in the Administrator application.
1. Do one of the following to open the Open File window:
On the standard toolbar, click Open.
Select File > Open and the appropriate submenu commands.
The Open File window opens.
2. Complete this window. For more information, see Open File Window.
3. When finished, click Open to open the selected file.

In the Options window, General > List file types on New and Open submenus controls whether submenus for the Open command are shown. When this checkbox is selected (default), submenu commands are shown. When it is cleared, submenu commands are not shown. For more information, see General User Options.
