Viewing and Modifying System Tree Configurations
When you insert a configuration in the Configurations table, it inherits all assemblies and parts in all existing configurations. Additionally, when you insert an assembly or part in the System Tree Items table, that assembly or part is inserted in all configurations. To indicate which assemblies and parts are part of a particular configuration, you use the System Tree Item Configurations window.
1. Select System > View System Tree Items Configurations. The System Tree Configurations Items window opens. For more information, see System Tree Item Configurations Window.
Above the table, you select the configuration in which to make assembly and part changes. The default is the active configuration in the Configurations table.
In the table, the first column displays values for the primary display field for the System Tree Items table. If this field is blank for a record, then the value for this table’s secondary display field is shown. These values can vary from Project to Project. For more information, see Display Fields.
The values shown in this first column are display-only. While you cannot modify the values for these display-fields here, you can modify them in the System Tree Items table itself.
2. For each configuration in which to enable or remove an item, do the following:
a. Above the table, select the configuration.
b. To remove an item from the configuration, in the table, clear its checkbox.
c. To enable an item in the configuration, select its checkbox.
Below the table, you can click the Select All button or Clear All button to select or clear all items and then customize your selections from there.
3. Once you have all configurations set up correctly, click Close.
The assemblies and parts shown in the System Tree Items table are always determined by the configuration selected in the Configurations table. Only the assemblies and parts that are enabled for that particular configuration are shown.
