Table Settings (Project)
When the Project is selected in the Project Properties pane, the Table Settings pane is shown in the right pane. The Table Settings pane displays properties for all tables and subtables that you can turn on and off in the System file. In this pane, you can also assign custom table names and display fields.
To expand a collapsed subtable heading, you click the plus sign to the left of the heading. To make changes to the settings for a table or subtable shown in the Table Settings pane, you click its Setting column, which makes a browse button available. Clicking this button opens a window in which you specify table settings.
If you assign custom table names, these custom names are used everywhere where singular and plural references to these tables are made. This includes all window names, command names, choice lists, and descriptive text. The following characters cannot be used in table name:
\ / : * ? < > | ; ‘ &
If you assign a custom name and later want to restore the default name, you clear the name field and click the green checkmark.
For subtables, the display field is Identifier, which is the identifier for the parent table. For more information, see Specifying Table Settings.
When subtables are turned on, you can insert any of the fields supplied specifically for them. Additionally, you can insert any of the following fields:
Date Sent to Workflow State
Form Set
Group
Last Edited By
Last Edited Date
System Name
User
Workflow State
You can create any number of Form Design files to use table and its subtables. Forms for the parent table support the embedding of child tables. For more information, see Embedded Tables on Forms.

In the Enterprise Edition, system administrators can grant users access to only records that they have inserted in subtables. For more information, see User Level Filtering (Enterprise Edition Only). When a System file is created from a Windchill product, it can include the Global Attributes table, which is a special System Tree Items subtable that cannot be customized. For more information, see Managing Global Attribute Data.
The next few topics provide the default settings for all tables shown in the Table Settings pane.
