Alert File
In the Enterprise Edition, you can use the Alert file with the FMEA and FRACAS modules if the Alert application is licensed and enabled. The Alert file is a singular support file, which means that only one occurrence of this file type can exist in the Project. The Alert file for an Enterprise Project is created when the Project is created.
The Alert file stores user-specified criteria for sending FMEA and/or FRACAS alerts via email messages. The alerts in an Alert file are processed by the Windchill Risk and Reliability Alert Service if General Enabled Alerts is selected in the Project properties. You cannot see a Project’s Alert file in the Project Navigator or open it until this checkbox is selected. For more information, see General Project Properties.
After the Enabled Alerts is selected, you can open and modify the Alert file in the same manner as any other file. Within the Alert file, several panes provide for viewing or supplying information about alerts. The following table describes these panes.
