Life Data Set Window
As described in Resulting Data Sets, Resulting data set is shown in the Weibull or ALT Parameters pane for a non-parametric data set. For the Weibull module, this occurs for non-parametric life, warranty, and degradation data sets. For the ALT module, this occurs for accelerated degradation data sets.
When you clicking the browse button for Resulting data set, a selection window opens. It displays a list of parametric life data sets. Clicking a data set selects it and closes the window. Clicking the green checkmark or red X closes the window without making any change to Resulting data set.
For the Weibull module, when a non-parametric life, warranty, or degradation data set is active, all parametric life data sets are listed. For more information, see Parametric Life Data Analysis (LDA).
For the ALT module, when an accelerated degradation data set is active, all ALT data sets are listed. For more information, see ALT Data Set Analysis.
In this selection window, you typically perform one of three actions:
Select < Do not create or update Life Data > to remove a previous selection from the window. When you select this option and click OK, Resulting data set is cleared. While the tie to the formerly specified parametric life data set is removed, this data set is not deleted.
Select < Create a new Data Set > to create a data set. When you select this option and click OK, New Data Set is shown as display-only text for Resulting data set. The next time you calculate this non-parametric data set, a new parametric data set is created and linked to Resulting data set. For subsequent calculations of this non-parametric data set, the parametric data set to which it is now linked is updated and calculated.
Select any existing parametric life data set inserted in the LDA Navigator. Once you select a data set and click OK, the name of the data set is shown as display-only text for Resulting data set. When you next calculate this non-parametric data set, the parametric data set to which it is linked is updated and calculated.
For the last two actions, once the non-parametric data set is calculated, the View Calculation Results window opens. Under the heading for this data set, Resulting data set displays the name of the parametric data set to which the updated results were written.
